Today was all about steep hills. we began at sea level and climbed hill after hill after hill. in fact, we learned a new skill today. A man was walking the hills and going from side to side of the street, making his own switchbacks. we did try it and had modest success. fast forwarding to the end of the day, we descended that same amount on paved roads. as hard as it is to believe, coming down was almost more difficult than going up.
