Our First Day in Porto

Beautiful architecture seemed to be the theme of the day today. First stop was Sao Bento Railway Station.

Next stop, McDonald’s…not to eat, but to see the antique building they renovated for their restaurant.

Then to the Majestic Cafe (where we DID have lunch)…

But I was sidetracked by some street art…

Mike spotted a yellow arrow in the street which reminded us of why we came here!

The last stop of the day was the Livraria Lello Bookstore. It is supposed to be one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world! The people were a little crazy, though.

This was a project a few years ago at Livraria Lello. The busts are not authors, but residents of Porto!

  1. What a spectacular place to begin. The staircase in the bookstore … what a glorious use of space. The black cat on the wall commanding his own building… I am thankful for my friend the photographer! Holly and Mike enjoy every blessed moment together on your journey.
