We Are In Santiago!!! (Lavacolla to Santiago)

We walked about 3.5 hours today and arrived at the Cathedral! As we walked through town, one guy sitting in an outdoor cafe said, “Well done! You’re almost there!” There was much joy and celebration when we arrived. I actually had goosebumps! I noticed that another pilgrim had gotten his credential already. (He had passed us as we were going through the city.) We went around the corner to the Pilgrim Office. The line was short and before you knew it, we walked out with our Compostelas! One is in Latin and the other states our starting and finishing points and the distance we walked. As you look at the pictures, notice the spelling on Mike’s. His middle name is James. Santiago is Spanish for St. James. We went to the Pilgrim’s Mass tonight and received the Pilgrim’s blessing.

I’ll try to do more tomorrow. But these images say it all.
